We would like to tell you about The Burns Night that we run in Hanwell, at The William Hobbayne Centre.
This year it took place on 25th January 2025. The event is held annually on the nearest Saturday to January 25th from 7-11pm and tickets are £10. It’s a lovely Community event that is organised entirely by volunteers. People love being able to go along with family, friends and neighbours, but also get the chance to meet new people. Your ticket includes a meal of Haggis, Neeps and Tatties and Cranachan, all cooked in the kitchen at the centre, plus a wee dram. It’s a bring your own drinks event, so makes for an affordable evening out.

Before the meal is served and the evening commences there is an address to the haggis, which is always entertaining. After your meal, there is traditional Scottish dancing with a ‘caller’, if you fancy a dance. It’s all very relaxing and just a bit of fun.
After the traditional dancing there is a chance to have a sit down and catch up with friends or carry on dancing to Scottish themed, less traditional music, Something for everyone.

It’s a not for profit event and the main aim is all about getting people from the community together. There is a raffle held on the night and any profits made from this and the ticket sales goes straight back to The William Hobbayne Charity, sometimes to help buy equipment for the kitchen and to keep supporting events like these.
We hope you can come and join us next year.
Warm wishes
The Burns Night volunteers.
