The Charity of William Hobbayne were very pleased to hear the fantastic news that Dementia Concern, have been awarded £20,000 to provide essential transport to people living with dementia across the borough of Ealing to attend their weekly clubs.
For over 10 years, Dementia Concern have been using the main hall at the William Hobbayne Centre, Hanwell, to host one of their weekly clubs for people with Dementia and their Carers.

The minibuses provide a door-to-door pick-up service for their members. This service is provided to people living with dementia across the entire borough of Ealing, to help them access the six weekly clubs based at three different community venues in Acton, Greenford and The William Hobbayne Centre, Hanwell.
The clubs are an integral part of Dementia Concerns services. They are a place where new friendships are fostered, members are encouraged to take part in activities and helped by their specialist staff. The weekly clubs are equally as important for all the carers, who can have valuable respite from their committed caring duties whilst their loved ones are attending the clubs.
The money awarded by the National Lottery Community Fund to continue transport and specialist training means that members can continue to take part in these clubs, as many members would be unable to access them without the transport.
