We are delighted to be supporting another of Ealing Wildlife Team’s great projects with the creation of a hedgehog highway right here in Hanwell. The Charity offered the use of Hobbayne Half Acre Field to kick off the project and offered some funding to start the journey to support hedgehog habitats right across Ealing. Three months later and the project has had a busy start.
The team arranged a volunteering day on Hobbayne Half Acre field attended by Ealing Wildlife Group members, local volunteers, Haven Wood Forest School, Lager Can volunteer litter pickers, Ealing Council’s Ranger Team and Greener Ealing.
Since inception the team have gone on to survey 3 parks, 3 allotment sites and several gardens (using and reviewing footage from 30 cameras), build hibernation habitats, done outreach and educational work, set up a hole drilling service and cared for an injured hog. You can continue to support the team on their journey with their crowd funding https://www.spacehive.com/build-hedgehog-highways#/idea
