Going through the moves

My name is Anne, and I recently joined the Line Dancing class at William Hobbayne Centre, to improve my balance after experiencing visual and back problems. This class is a low-energy dance workout, and I found it easy to join in from the start. Many of the attendees have retired and this level of workout is great exercise for balance and for the brain.

I have also made friends and had many jolly discussions with others in the class.

The class is led by Bobby, a wonderful, gentle, sprightly lady in her 80’s. Bobby is an inspiration to us all and has overseen the class for almost 20 years.  She has a wide variety of music for us to dance to. More recently, others have taken the lead and introduced new line dancing moves and music.

Line Dancing is a pop in event on every Tuesday from 9.45 until 11.00 a.m. including a 10-minute break for refreshments, and costs just £2.00.

Come and join us as we dance to improve our heart health, balance, co-ordination, mental wellbeing and have FUN!
