The Charity of William Hobbayne were delighted to welcome and support the Wandering Fox Market, which has found a new home at the William Hobbayne Centre. It is a wonderful community event that supports and promotes local artists and craft makers.

The organiser of the Market gives her reflections on the day.
The Wandering Fox by Victoria Williams
After almost seven successful years at The Fox pub in Hanwell, it was time for my small business, FoxMarketW7, to find a new base. Therefore, I was delighted when the trustees of the William Hobbayne Centre agreed that I could hire the hall for my market. Since the market had a new home, I also thought a name change was in order, so I chose The Wandering Fox.
On Saturday 15th March, the first ‘The Wandering Fox’ was held in the main hall at the William Hobbayne Centre. The market always places a strong emphasis on “shopping local” hence on the day not only were most of the stallholders from Hanwell, but there was Ealing honey, art and illustrations of local landmarks, and wildlife maps of local areas. There were also many sustainable items available including vegan-friendly skincare and candles sold in recyclable/reusable packaging, hair accessories made from upcycled fabric, home ware and accessories made from organic cotton and vintage jewellery. Two of the stallholders also donated some of their profits to good causes – the Bumblebee Conservation Trust and the Brent River & Canal Society.

The day was a huge success – the stallholders loved the new venue with its the fantastic location in central Hanwell and it was great to see so many of the market’s existing customers as well as to meet new shoppers.

The next market at the William Hobbayne Centre will be on Saturday 17th May 12.30pm -4.30pm with subsequent markets on 19th July, 27th September, 15th November and 6th December.
